Five arrested for misappropriation

The Nepal Police have taken five people into custody for 10 days on the charge of selling relief material meant for earthquake survivors. Two of seven arrested were released after interrogation.
The police had arrested the group with 45 sacks of rice and 20 sacks of beaten rice from Chaubas in Koshipari VDC.
Those who have been remanded to custody are Surya Bahadur Tamang of Chaubas-7, Krishna Prasad Chaulagain and Guna Prasad Chaulagain of Gothpani 9, Kanchhi Lama of Dhuseni Sibalaya 7 and Thuli Lama of Wangthali 6.
The police started investigating the matter after receiving complaints from the locals. The police have filed a case against the accused under the Black-marketing and Some Other Social Offenses and Punishment Act, 2032 (1975). (PR)
