NRN help for building temporary shacks

After collecting resources through a Facebook campaign, Sarita Gurung of Dhikurpokhari in Kaski district provided zinc sheets worth Rs 220,000 to 35 households of Dhadkharka in Charikot. Before coming to Dolakha, she had collected more than Rs 5 million for relief distribution in Gorkha. She has also provided Rs 30,000 to the family of the late journalist Suman Bomjan, who lost his life to the Great Earthquake.
“I have reached the houses of earthquake victims with aid from the money collected from foreign individuals and organisations,” said Sarita Gurung. According to her, she has provided relief worth Rs 382,000 to a school and locals of Thumi VDC and Rs 270,000 to victims in Laprak and Uhiyan VDCs in Gorkha.
Likewise, a former student of Gandaki Boarding Secondary School of Pokhara, Sabitri Gurung--who presently resides in Hong Kong--has provided zinc sheets to victims in Jiri Kalanka. According to local Rameshwor Khadka, she provided materials worth Rs 480,000. “After learning about the plight of Dolakha in the news, Niranjan Gurung of Hong Kong helped me to get to Jiri,” said Sabitri Gurung.
Likewise, the Prawasi Samparka Manch of Qatar distributed zinc sheets to 150 families of Chahare Gaun in Jiri. “We have provided aid with the money collected from Nepalis living in Qatar,” said the chairman of the organistion, Chudamani Karki.
