Jun 15, 2015-

A fresh avalanche struck the already devastated Langtang valley in Rasuwa district  on Monday, injuring four security personnel who were deployed there to search the bodies of the victims missing after the avalanche triggered by the April 25 earthquake.

Chief District Officer Gautam Rimal said four security personnel have been reported injured in the incident. They had reached the valley only recently, after constructing a new trail since the old one was obstructed by landslides.

Langtang valley, which is one of the major tourist destinations of the country, was decimated by the Gorkha earthquake and the avalanche that followed shortly after.

A large number of villagers and foreign trekkers are still missing in the region. Security personnel have so far recovered 192 bodies from the valley.
