MFD forecasts heavy rains in Far-West

The monsoon rainfall is once again active in the Far-Western districts, increasing the risk of floods and landslides across the region.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division in its weather update on Saturday evening stated the possibility of landslides and floods triggered by heavy rainfall at some places in the region as well as isolated thundershowers in remaining parts of the country for Sunday.

On Saturday, Kathmandu recorded highest rainfall at 34.4 millimetres followed by Dadeldhura, Lumle, Dipayal, Nepalgunj, Pokhara and Dhangadhi at 32, 20.6, 17.8, 17.7, 13.5 and 13, respectively.The heavy rains on Wednesday and Thursday this week wreaked havoc, displacing hundreds of people, in many areas in the Mid-Western and Far-Western regions as well as other places triggering floods and landslides.
