Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has urged all the Nepalis living in and outside the country to participate in the great campaign of constitution-writing by providing inputs on the draft statute. In a statement on Sunday, the PM said the new constitution was getting its final shape as per the desire of the people to see Nepal as a federal, inclusive and republican nation. Koirala called on all the citizens to be part of the “highest level of democratic exercise”.

Oli: statute progressive

Defining constitution as a reflection of the contemporary political power balance, CPN-UML chief KP Oli has said the proposed statute is progressive and in favour of the people and the country. Issuing a statement on Sunday urging people to provide feedback, Oli stressed that the historic opportunity of writing the constitution had come out of numerous movements and sacrifices of the people. Stating that the global community wants an end to the transition through a new constitution, Oli said there was no meaning of protests against the process. He said unity among the parties would exist until statute promulgation.
