Floods sweep away Dolakha bridge
Jul 25, 2015-
Floods triggered by incessant rainfall in the district have swept away a bridge over Charangekhola along the Lamosanghu-Jiri road on Saturday.
Consequently, traffic movement along the road has been obstructed and the district has been disconnected from the Capital as well as other districts.
The bridge lies in the border of Bhimeshwor Municipality and Boch VDC and is around nine kilometers from the district headquarters Charikot.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Ajaya KC said passengers are left in the lurch as bridge has been washed away. “Vehicles are left stranded on the road,” he said. Police said water level in the river has increased due to the rains.
Meanwhile, people have to travel as far as Ramechhap via BP Highway to reach Charikot.
