8 India-bound women rescued

KAPILVASTU: Eight women being trafficked to India have been rescued from Krishnanagar check point. Among them, two women of Sindhupalchok district who were being trafficked to New Delhi were rescued from the border area. Area Police, Krishnanagar, filed a case of human trafficking against Ganesh Chhetri of Kathmandu who reportedly lured the two women assuring them of lucrative jobs in Kuwait. Likewise, six women of Dang, Baglung, Gulmi and Syangja districts who were being trafficked to India were also rescued from the border area recently. (PR)

6,000 trees planted

PARSA: Lions Club of Birgunj has planted 6,000 saplings at Bishrampur VDC in Parsa district on Saturday. The saplings of Sishau, Kamad, Pipal including various trees have been planted at the public place. Chief District Officer Keshavraj Ghimire had inaugurated the programme that saw a large numbers of locals participating. (PR)
