Teen Ekanta, a play written by Indian playwright Nirmal Verma, is currently being staged at the Theatre Village, Lazimpat. It started from August 7.

The play was adapted from three of Verma’s stories namely—Dhupka Ek Tukada, Dedh Inch Upar and Weekend. The play, directed by Anup Baral, embraces the theme of loneliness and encapsulates into its plot the nostalgic sensibilities evoked in its characters’ mindframe.

The play tells the story of three characters separately, without mentioning any relation between them.“I am not drawn to stories because of the issues they raise b ut depending on how the characters have been thought up,” says Baral. “I want to work with plays that have characters who can evoke emotions in the audience.”

The play features Menuka Pradhan, Suraj Malla, Aashant Sharma and Diya maskey.

The play will be staged every day till August 25 at 5.30 pm (except for Wednesdays).
