Receiving donation from Radio Nepal to PM’s Disaster Relief Fund at his official residence in Baluwatar on Wednesday, Koirala said
that the nation needs peace and stability for strengthening the achievements
made during the second Janaandolan.
“We are in the process of finalising the constitution,” PM Koirala said, assuring that demands put forth by various stakeholders would be met in the constitution.
Rights of women, Janajatis, Dalits, Muslim, Tharus and other marginalised communities will be addressed in the new constitution, he said. “We have a historic opportunity to lead the nation on the road to peace and prosperity.”
He added that neighbouring India and China have been “urging us to take benefit from their development but it is only possible once we will have peace and stability in the country”.
Staffers of Radio Nepal have contributed Rs1.78 million to PM’s relief fund.
