IDPG: Finalise RECONSTRUCTION authority bill

- Post Report, Kathmandu

Sep 24, 2015- The international community has urged for an immediate finalisation of the reconstruction bill to begin works as soon as possible.

Issuing a press statement on Wednesday, the International Development Partners’ Group (IDPG) called on the government and the Parliament to take all necessary actions as a matter of urgency to finalise the establishment of the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA).
“The NRA is crucial to effectively oversee the huge reconstruction tasks,” read the statement. “Needs to the tune of US$ 6.7 billion, according to the PDNA, will have to be addressed with special focus and attention for timely delivery of quality support to the affected people, notably the most vulnerable, and by applying the ‘build back better’ principle to foster resilience.” IDPG also wishes to see that the tremendous goodwill towards Nepal is rapidly translated into action.
