Hyatt top foreign currency earner

KATHMANDU: The Hyatt Regency Kathmandu has been declared the highest foreign currency earner in Nepal’s hotel sector. The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation awarded the hotel for its efforts to enhance and develop Nepal’s tourism infrastructure and private sector participation by earning the highest amount of foreign currency among the country’s hotels in 2014-15. The hotel was presented with a letter of appreciation on the occasion of the 36th World Tourism Day. The government hopes that the Hyatt Regency will contribute to further development of tourism as it lends its professional experience to the sector. “It is a very proud moment for us, earning this award in the hotel sector,” said General Manager Sinead O’Reilly-Henell. “We will continue to work towards improving the hospitality industry by providing authentic hospitality to our guests, a value Hyatt Hotels Corporation firmly follows.” (PR)

Bajaj’s ‘Smart Maha Utsav’ winner

KATHMANDU: Gautam Gaida from Changunarayan-2, Bhaktapur has won Bajaj Pulsar 200 RS under the scheme named “Smart Maha Utsav” launched by Samsung Electronics Nepal. Under this scheme, customers receive various assured gifts like Samsung digital cameras, Samsung smartphones or Timex wristwatches, Bajaj mixers and Bajaj irons on purchase of specific models of Samsung TVs, refrigerators and washing machines. Seiko wins ‘Brand of the Year’ award

KATHMANDU: Seiko has been recognised as ‘Brand of the Year’ in the watch category in the World Branding Forum at Kensington Palace in London. The winners are selected  from a nominated list of 2,600 brands from 35 countries through a three-part process involving brand valuation by the World Branding Forum, a consumer research project and an on-line vote by the public. Seiko was selected for this award alongside many other prestigious brands, including Apple, Louis Vuitton, Mercedes Benz and Google. “This award is a celebration of the achievements of some of the greatest brands around the world,” said Richard Rowles, chairman of the World Branding Forum. Etihad gives 25pc off fares to US

KATHMANDU: Etihad Airways has announced a 25 percent discount on fares to Dallas, Washington DC, Chicago and New York in the US. The discounts are applicable to both business and economy class. The offer is valid up to January 31, 2016 and bookings have to be made by October 31, 2015. The airline said that as Nepal’s biggest festivals Dashain and Tihar were around the corner, and more people were looking to travel, the offer would give travellers more reasons to celebrate. (PR)
