The RPP-N Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting on Friday authorised its Chairman Kamal Thapa to decide the party’s position in next government by evaluating the equations among the major parties.
The party will not join the next government if all three major parties—Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UPCN (Maoist)— join the next government, a RPP-N leader said. “Our party will be in the government only if one of the three major parties dcides to be in the opposition,” the leader said. “We are ready to accept the leadership of any party.”
With 25 lawmakers in Parliament, RPP-N can play a decisive role in the government formation process. If the party decides to join the government, RPP-N has demanded the post of deputy speaker.
