While congratulating PM Oli, Rae expressed hope that the relations between Nepal and India will further strengthen during the tenure of PM Oli, said the PM’s private secretariat.
Oli had received a congratulatory message from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi hours after his election to the post on Sunday and invited him to visit India.
PM Oli and Rae discussed on the possible date of the PM’s visit to India during the meeting where the Indian envoy asked the convenient date for the visit. Oli told Rae that the Indian side would be communicated soon about the suitable date after looking into his schedule.
Ambassador Rae also assured the PM that obstructions at the border crossings would ease soon, the secretariat said. While acknowledging the statement from Indian PM Modi, Oli said that he wanted to see and forge better relation with India. “PM Oli says India-Nepal cooperation is for mutual benefits. He looks forward to an early visit to India,” the Indian Embassy said in a statement.
