Police destroy marijuana plants

BHOJPUR: Police destroyed marijuana planted in about 15 ropanis of land as part of its campaign to make the district free of narcotics. Deputy Superintendent of Police Raj Kumar Lamsal said security personnel destroyed marijuana in Bhojpur Municipality, Sindrang, Chyangre, Tiwaribhanjyang, Annapurna, Homtang and Hasanpur, among other villages. Border points sealed for polls

NEPALGUNJ: Nepal-India border points in Banke and Bardiya districts were sealed on Saturday due to local body elections in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh, India. Though cross-border movement came to a halt since early morning, ambulances carrying patients are allowed to cross the border. (PR)

Murderer held after 13 years

KHOTANG: A woman, who was convicted of murder, has been arrested 13 years after committing the crime. Parimaya Rai of Rajapani VDC-7 in the district was convicted of murdering Nabaraj Rayamajhi of Anptar VDC-9 in Udayapur district in 2002. Rai has been sentenced to 10 years in jail. (RSS)
