Basanta Chaudhary’s poetry in Tokyo

During the programme, organised by the Nepali Embassy in Japan in association with the Japan Nepal literary forum, Chaudhary recited more than a dozen of his new and old poems.
The solo recitation programme was the 16th stop on Chaudhary’s World Poetic Journey.
The event, inaugurated by Nepali ambassador to Japan, Madan Bhattarai, started with the screening of a documentary based on Chaudhary’s life and work.
“We Nepalis are scattered all around the world, but we are all the same; we are the heartbeats beating out of the same heart,” said Chaudhary, addressing the audience that comprised mostly of expat Nepalis living in Japan.
Chaudhary not only recited his poetry but also offered a rendition of some of his new and old songs and ghazals such as Mero Desh, Timilai Kina Samjhiye, and Timi Chhau Chhainau.
Chaudhary has been on his poetic journey since 2012 and has performed in countries such as the UK, the US, the UAE, India, Hong Kong and Singapore, among others.
Chaudhary has authored five books of literary works and produced eight music albums.
