UCPN (M) issues code of conduct for its ministers

The party has also instructed its ministers to prepare an immediate and long-term work plan.
Organising a press conference in the Capital on Tuesday, Maoist Vice-chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha, who is also entrusted for the coordination between the party and its ministries, unveiled the code of conduct for its ministers. The code of conduct requires all party ministers, among others, to report to their offices on time; keep the works related to the party and the ministry separate; and perform the tasks related to promotion, transfer, training and foreign junkets in an institutional and impartial manner. Similarly, the Maoist ministers are strictly advised against appointing their relatives as their personal secretaries, using of office vehicles for non-official purposes,
The code of conduct also bounds all party ministers to make public their property details within 10 days of their appointment and maintain transparency in all office transactions and other finance-related works.
The Maoist ministers have also been instructed by the party to unveil the progress report of their ministries on a monthly basis.
Shrestha said the party has also directed its ministers to play an effective role to create an atmospheres for a successful implementation of the new constitution.
