CAN directed to stop election

NSC Member Secretary Keshav Bista said they were forced to issue the directive after CAN failed to follow a “minimum electoral procedures” for the election. In a letter sent to the cricket governing body, NSC has outlined six reasons to put on hold the CAN election.
Even as election of the district associations has been going on ever since the date had been fixed in June, CAN had only sought permission from NSC for the central committee election on October 28. Among the reasons the NSC pointed out include CAN’s reluctance on public notice of 21 days of the election, unfair elections in districts, unsatisfactory explanations to ICC’s $100,000 fine on Nepal, and conspiciously small number of central committe following CIAA’s suspension of 10 office-bearers.
“Cricket will not move forward in current state, it needs to freshen up,” said Bista. “We will bring about newness in Nepali cricket within a few weeks.”
