Film South Asia 2015 concludes
The 10th edition of Film South Asia concluded in Lalitpur on Sunday.The 10th edition of Film South Asia concluded in Lalitpur on Sunday. The event, which kicked off on Thursday, showcased 43 documentaries, including eight movies under the student category. During the concluding ceremony, “A Walnut Tree” by Pakistani filmmaker Ammar Aziz was awarded the first prize with Ram Bahadur Trophy and a purse of USD 2000. Likewise, “Blood Leaves its Trails” by Indian filmmaker Iffat Fatima and “Drawing the Tiger” by Amy Benson and Ramyata Limbu received second and third prize/Unicef Award, respectively. Under the student category, “Tyres” by Kyaw Myo Lwin of Burma bagged The Kathmandu Post Award.
Held in Kathmandu every odd year, the FSA also promotes screening, discussions and workshops all across the globe focusing on South Asian subcontinent to promote non-fiction filmmaking.
