Police arrested two fake examinees caught during the Nepal Medical Council licensing examination on Saturday.
The test was being held at the Chhauni-based Nepal Army Medical College and was attended by 513 students—472 from MBBS and 41 from BDS backgrounds.
Police identified the duo as Dr Sushil Mandal, with NMC licence No 14260, and Niraj Sharma, an intern at the Tribhuvan University Institute of Medicine.
The two were writing the exam for Nabin Kumar Yadav, who had flunked the NMC licensing examination for eight times, and Saroj Shah, who could not get through the examination 12 times. Yadav had completed his MBBS in 2012 from Chongqing Medical University while Shah did it in 2007 from Sichuan University, both Chinese institutes. They have been detained at Metropolitan Police Circle, Swoyambhu. NMC spokesman Dr Krishna Adhikari said all the four persons would be barred from practising for at least two years.
