Master’s students could miss exams
- tarai unrest
Dec 1, 2015-
Master’s level students at Thakurram Campus in Birgunj are concerned that they might miss their first year’s finals scheduled to begin on December 6 because of the ongoing protest and banda.
The students said that they have been unable to submit the exam forms due to the continuous unrest in Parsa and its adjoining districts for over two months now. Many students from outside Parsa, who had gone home to celebrate the festival, have not returned as the transportation service is at halt.
Student leader Dilipraj Karki said if the situation continues a large number of students will miss their exams. The campus has around 350 students enrolled in various Master’s programmes. Some of the student unions, meanwhile, have padlocked the examination section of the campus, demanding time extension for form submission.
The campus administration, however, claimed that the students were given sufficient time to submit their exam forms.
