Shooter Rana matches best mark in Air Rifle

Rana scored 389 points while Nepal Police shooters Fulmaya Kyapchhaki and Ashmita Rai scored 385 points each but the former is second on ‘series shots’. Pawan Ghimire of Dang stayed at the top of the men’s 10m Air Rifle with 569 points, followed by Sanjog Krishna Shrestha (541) of Banke and Ramu Paudel (539) of Rupandehi.
In the women’s 10m Air Pistol, Sabita Basnet of Nepal Police accumulated 363 points while her teammate Sima Tuladhar scored 360 points. Rubina Shrestha of Lalitpur was next at 355 points. In the men’s 10m Air Pistol, Armymen Ramlal Gurung scored 535 points, Yam Bahadur Gurung scored 517 and Prakash finished of Kathmandu finished with 512 points. In all, six men and as many women shooters will be picked from four events for the regional games slated for January next year in India.
Table Tennis
A total of 16 table tennis players-eight each in men’s and women’s categories—made it to the final round of selection tournament for the 12th SA Games on Wednesday.
The selected players will join 10 national team players-five each in men’s and women’s section-for the Round Robin League. From a pool of 13 players in each category, top five players after the league will secure their places for SA Games.
