Kathmandu

Dec 14, 2015-

UCPN (Maoist) is set to launch an investigation into the recent incident in which real quake survivors were deprived of visiting China while two relatives of the party’s top ranking leaders were sent instead.

The decision was taken at the ongoing Central Committee meeting after leaders demanded an investigation into the scandal which they lamented had diminished the party’s standing.

UCPN (Maoist) central member Hemraj Bhandari proposed for an internal investigation in the party while another central member Ganga Karki demanded a commitment for ending the increasing trend ‘selfishly driven motives’.

Home Minister Shakti Bahadur Basnet, one of the ministers representing UCPN (Maoist) in the government, recently sent UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s granddaughter and his own daughter to China as part of a visit that was planned for the victims of the April 25 earthquake.
