Jica president to visit Nepal

Japan International Cooperation Agency (Jica) said on Friday its President Shinichi Kitaoka would visit Nepal from December 20-22.

The main objective of his visit is to observe earthquake affected areas of Nepal, reconstruction progress and discuss the overall cooperation strategies in Nepal, Jica said in a statement.

He will also observe the earthquake affected area at Chautara, Sindhupalchowk and Kathmandu Bhaktapur road constructed in assistance of JICA. 

Kitaoka became JICA’s new president on October 1, 2015, succeeding Akihiko Tanaka. 

During his visit, he is scheduled to meet Prime Minister KP Oli Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, Minister for Physical Infrastr-ucture and Transport, Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar and National Planning Commission Vice-chairman Yuba Raj Khatiwada.
