Fifteen cargoes carrying medicines have entered Nepal from the Rupaidiha-Nepalgunj border point in the past 10 days.
The cargoes that were stranded in the eastern border points for past four months were rerouted to the Rupaidiha-Nepalgunj point.
Pharmaceutical entrepreneurs said various medicines, antibiotics and surgical equipment reached Nepal via Ruapaidiha where the incidents of protests and obstructions are not as intense and frequent compared to other border points.
The Rupaidiha-Nepalgunj border point has not witnessed major disturbances at the hands of the agitating Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) since December 9, according to Area Police Office in Jamunaha.
Besides medicines, cargoes containing other essentials, including petroleum products, are also entering from Rupaidiha-Nepalgunj crossing at a greater number these days.
Additional Sub-inspector of Jamunaha Area Police Office Hari Bahadur Gurung said more cargoes are entering from Rupaidiha these days.
According to the records at the office, around 250 tankers carrying diesel, petrol, aviation fuel, LPG gas and kerosene have entered Nepal after the situation calmed at the Nepalgunj border.
