The deceased, most of them beggars, used to sleep on pavements and temples.
On Wednesday, two persons were found dead in Kathmandu. One was found dead in an under-construction house in Bhagwatibahal, whose identity is yet to be revealed. Police said he was found in a pool of water. The other one, who appeared to be in his 40s, was found dead in Itumbahal.
The Metropolitan Police Range, Teku, said similar cases have been reported from other parts of Kathmandu.
On Tuesday a person was found dead in Bhadrkali Temple at around seven in the morning.
On the morning of December 21, a person, believed to be in his 60s, was found dead in Buddhapark Chautara of Swoyambhu. He used to beg for a living. On the same evening, another beggar was found dead outside the National Trauma Centre in Mahaboudha.
According to Superintendent of Police Bishwo Raj Pokhrel, Spokesperson for MPR, in one case in Kathmandu-15, an 88-year-old person was found dead in his room. The deceased, identified as Bishnu Shanker Kapali, had died of hypothermia, said SP Pokhrel. In Lalitpur, police said three persons were found dead. DSP Daya Nidhi Gyawali said they were found dead in Bhaisepati, Lagankhel and Satodobato.
In Bhaktapur too, three persons were said to have lost their lives to cold.
SP Kiran Bajracharya said one of the dead was earthquake victim living in a temporary shelter. (PR)
