Mohammad Day observed across districts

BANKE: Hundreds of people from the Muslim community in Nepalgunj took out a rally for peace and harmony on the occasion of Mohammad Day on Thursday. They also organised Deepawali in bazaar areas. Similarly, in Siraha, Muslim communities also took out a rally at Golbazaar Municipality and other places on the occasion. The rallies were organised on the occasion of the 1490th birthday of Hajarat Mohammad, the founder of Islam religion.

Three arrested with weapons

TANAHUN: Police arrested three people in possession of five muskets from Aanbukhaireni VDC-7 in the district on Thursday. Sherjan Thapa, 25, Lekh Bahadur Bhujel, 31, and Laldhwoj Bhujel, 43, of Aanbukhaireni VDC-8 were arrested with the illegal weapons, police said. The muskets were seized while the three men were walking on the roadside hiding the weapons in sacks. (PR)

Warm clothes for quake-hit elderly

DOLAKHA: Social activists in Dolakha district distributed warm clothes to quake-affected senior citizens of Bhimeshwor Municipality-2, 3 and 4 on Thursday. A family of Aatmakrishna Shrestha provided sweaters to 250 elderly citizens in the district.

Darchula woman buried to death

DARCHULA: Twenty-nine-year-old Kauhila Dhami was buried to death while five others were injured as a landmass caved in at Bhagawati-9 in the district on Thursday. The incident occurred as villagers were digging soil for the purpose of daubing their houses. The injured returned home after treatment at a local health

facility.
