Rana sisters win girls’ doubles

Twin Rana sisters Mayanka and Mahika claimed the girls’ doubles title of the 14th Jaykar Memorial Junior National Open Tennis Championships here at the Satdobato Tennis Complex on Thursday.
In the final clash, the Rana twin defeated Mathema twin Catherine and Ani 6-3, 6-2. Renjan Lama and Sakchyam Karki won the boys’ doubles with a double bagel victory over Adit Subedi and Saharsha Bibi Chand. Meanwhile, in an all Rana sister semi-final clash, Mahika rallied from a set down to beat Mayanka 0-6, 7-6, 6-4.
Siwangi Shree Shah won the U-9 girls’ singles final defeated Eva Adhikari 8-4 and Rayana Shah took the U-10 title easing to an 8-3 victory over Isha Shree Shah.
Aditya Subedi and Aarav Samrat Hada set the U-9 boys’ singles final clash. Subedi dispatched Rijan Shrestha 8-0 and Hada beat Aki Juven Rawat 8-5. Hada also made it to the U-10 boys’ singles final with an 8-6 victory over Subedi. Rawat, meanwhile, earned some solace defeating Rijan Shrestha 8-1. Ira Rawat saw off Prerana Koirala 6-1, 6-4 and Abhilasha Bista trounced Isha Shree 6-0, 6-2 to reach the U-14 girls’ singles final. Prashant Basnet, Samyak Bhushan Bajracharya, Dipesh KC and Saharsha entered the U-14 boys’ singles last four.
