8 hurt in road accident

At least eight people were injured when a Pajero jeep and a Tata Mobile light commercial vehicle collided in Madhyapur Thimi on Friday morning.The Pajero jeep (Ba2 Cha 9066) heading towards Bhaktapur from Kathmandu collided with the Tata Mobile (Ba 3 Cha2134) at Gatthaghar Chowk. According to police, four persons were on board each vehicle.
Asish Tamrakar, Niresh Tamrakar, Suresh Tamrakar and Kuber Chitrakar of the Pajero jeep and Tata Mobile driver Bikram Tamang and Raju Sing Tamang, Yubaraj Dhakal and Krishna Man Kushle were injured in the accident. The injured are receiving treatment at Nagarik Community Teaching Hospital in Gatthaghar and Madhyapur Hospital in Thimi. All of them are out of danger, said police.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Prabin Lal Shrestha said speeding could be the cause of the accident.“Those on the Pajero jeep were returning from Bhaktapur after New Year eve celebrations and were under the influence of alcohol,” said Shrestha.
