7 killed, 22 injured in Dang accident

At least seven persons died and 22 were injured when a microbus collided with a school bus at Tripur-3 along the Ghorahi-Tulsipur road section in Dang district on Wednesday morning. Condition of some of the injured is said to be critical.
The Ghorahi-bound microbus (Ra 1 Ja 372) collided with the school bus (Ra 1 Ka 191) belonging to Padmodaya Public Higher Secondary School at around 9am, said police. No one was on board the school bus which was heading towards Narayanpur to pick up schoolchildren.
Five persons, including the microbus driver, died on the spot while two women succumbed to injuries at Kohalpur Medical College.
Police identified the deceased as microbus driver Dhan Bahadur Thapa of Manpur-7, Bishnu Bista of Kavra in Salyan and her two-and-a-half-year-old son Hemanta, Sabanam Ansari of Tripur-1 and Kimini Khadka, Sushila Khadka and Pabitra Dangi of Tulsipur. The injured have been referred to Nepalgunj and Butwal for further treatment. Police suspected that the accident could have taken place due to poor visibility caused by thick fog.
