DCA open tour with victory 

Dhangadi Cricket Academy (DCA) on Wednesday crushed Allahabad by 87 runs in their first match of their India tour in Sahranpur. DCA piled on a challenging 159-4 in 20 overs with Dipendra Thapa smashing 40 and Yam Karki chipping in 39 runs. Lokesh Bam also made 18 for DCA. Allahabad were restricted to 72 runs in 15.3 overs after skipper Bikram Thagunna picked up 2-5 in four overs. Thapa also had two scalps. (PR)

Birtamode win, enter final 

BIRTAMODE: Karna Limbu scored twice as United Birtamode entered the final of the Kakadvitta Gold Cup here on Wednesday. In the semi-final match at the Kakadvitta Football Training Centre, Birtamode defeated Church Boys FC of Kathmandu 2-0. Limbu gave Birtamode a 66th minute lead through a penalty before sealing the rout in the closing stages of the game. Limbu was awarded the man-of-the-match. On Thursday, Bhutan XI will play Darjeeling XI in the other semi-final. (PR)

Bogati clinches Caddie C’ship

KATHMANDU: Amit Bogati clinched the Gokarna Annual Caddie Golf Championship here at the Gokarna Golf Course on Wednesday. Bogati carded six-over 78 to record a three-shot win over Bharat Thapa Magar. Apart from the trophy, Bogati was also rewarded with Rs 15,000. Thapa Magar earned Rs 10,000. Narayan Chaulagai carded 11-over 83 to finish third and Bishnu Bhandari fouth after scoring 12-over 84. The tournament is organised annually for the caddie golfers working at the Gokarna Golf Club. (PR)
