Youth held with 93 tola stolen gold

Kaski Police on Thursday arrested a college student in possession of 93 tolas gold and 57 tolas silver stolen from Laxmi Gold Silver Shop at New Road in Kathmandu. The gold and silver jewellery were stolen from the shop on December 27.
Chiranjibi Pun of Rum-3 in Myagdi, also a 12th grader at Rastriya Higher Secondary School in Pokhara, was held with the stolen items. Police also seized a laptop from Pun.
Police made public the suspect and the seized ornaments on Thursday. Superintendent of Police Hari Bahadur Pal claimed that the suspects had also planned to steal ornaments from gold shops at New Road area in Pokhara as well. “They had studied about gold shops in Pokhara. But, we arrested them on time,” he said.
Meanwhile, police also arrested Dil Bahadur Pun of Myagdi and Umesh Tamang of Nuwakot from Gongabu in Kathmandu on Wednesday evening on the same
charge. They were held as per information given by Chiranjibi in Pokhara. Pun and the stolen ornaments are sent to the Capital for further investigations.
