Mahato’s left eye in trouble
Sadbhawana Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato has serious vision disorder in his left eye because his retinal vein has ruptured, a doctor attending on him said on Friday.Sadbhawana Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato has serious vision disorder in his left eye because his retinal vein has ruptured, a doctor attending on him said on Friday.
Complications were seen in Mahato’s eye due to excess blood sugar level and high blood pressure, said Dr Sanjaya Gupta at Biratnagar Eye Hospital. The vein in his left eye has ruptured, forming a blood clot inside.
“The problem resulted from an excessive rise in blood pressure and hypertension,” said Dr Gupta. Mahato, who was injured in a clash with security personnel while staging a sit-in on the Biratnagar-Jogbani border point, had gone to the Indian capital for treatment after his sugar and blood pressure level shot up. Mahato realised the problem in one of his eyes when he went to Dharan to meet his party cadres inured during a clash in Rangeli, Morang.
Ophthalmologists at Biratnagar Eye Hospital said he may require a surgery if the eye does not get better with medicines.
