Police on Monday made public five persons who have been charged with the abduction of a health worker in Hetauda.
Police claimed that Sanjok Moktan, 27, of Hetauda-5, Nabin Bartaula of Hetauda-8 and Assistant Constable of Armed Police Force Jyoti Nepali, APF Constable Tej Bahadur Sunar and Archan Pun of Hetauda-8 on Saturday abducted Madhurendra Prasad Jaiswal, who ran the Sumintra Medical at Hetauda-24.
According to police, the gang had demanded Rs500,000 and also robbed him in the Phurkechaur forest. Jaiswal had gone to meet Moktan as he was known to him.
“They took him into the forest on a motorcycle,” said Deputy Superintendent of Police Sishu Sharma.
Police arrested Moktan while he reached there to receive the ransom on Sunday. As per Moktan’s statement, the other four were nabbed from Kamane at Hetauda-8. Police said the accused would be remanded in custody on the charge of abduction and extortion.
