I’ll resolve Madhes issue if elected party chief: Deuba

Addressing the inauguration of the party’s Kathmandu district convention, Deuba said the party had been missing opportunities due to its indecisiveness.
Deuba was of the view that it is the NC’s responsibility as the largest party to resolve the Madhes issue.
There is, however, widespread perception that Deuba is a part of the problem as he has vehemently opposed to splitting the Kailali district to create a province as demanded by the Tharus.
Deuba criticised the leadership of NC President Sushil Koirala saying that the party had been denied leadership of the Nepal Reconstruction Authority and ambassadors’ posts in several countries.
The former prime minister said the government had to be stopped in its “unilateral” moves. Election for the NC’s Kathmandu district leadership begins on Tuesday.
