Birds of Nepal on display

Manika’s oeuvre on display includes the portraits of famous birds found in Nepal. The artist
has captured through her artwork birds like Danphe, Munal, and Koili, among others.
“Birds are found everywhere in the world. I, however, have chosen to sketch portraits of Nepali birds,” Manika, 17, said.
“With this I want to make people aware about the nature and habitat of the birds,” the artist added.
Moreover, Manika’s prodigious paintings have raised few brows among art enthusiasts.
“Manika’s effort to introduce her audience to birds in Nepal through art is exemplary and compelling,” cultural expert Satyamohan Joshi, has said. Likewise, the exhibit’s curator Shyam Krishna Shrestha is all praise for Monika’s talent. He notes: “Manika is a gifted artist. She will need a proper environment so that she can hone her craft.”
The show is slated to continue until Feb 11.
