The trio—Khima Giri, Tulasi Ghimire and Sandip Pariyar—was made public at a press conference on Thursday. A pistol, eight rounds of bullets and a motorcycle were also seized from the three men.
Police is treating Giri as the main suspect behind the murder. Ghimire and Pariyar are being seen as accessories to Kafle’s murder. Ghimire, according to police, had served a one year jail term in the past on a drug related crime. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mahendra Khadka said Kafle was murdered because Giri held a grudge against him.
The three men had left a written pamphlet at the murder scene, claiming it to be the armed outfit, Tarai Mukti Morcha. The three men were trying to get away with the crime by incriminating the Morcha.
DSP Khadka said they were preparing to file a murder case against the trio.
Police have rounded up five suspects behind the abduction and murder of seven-year-old Aakash Chaudhary of Kohalpur-9 in Banke district. The suspects have been identified as Ghanashyam Chamar, Rahis Nau, Rasidali Darji, Shovanali Sai and Sattarali Sai. Police on Thursday said four of the suspects confessed to the crime during interrogation. The body of Aakash was discovered near his home, three days after his abduction.
Saptari District Court on Thursday released Aashok Yadav who was arrested on charge of murdering Police Assistant Sub Inspector Ramesh Subba on January 4. A supporter of Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) Yadav was remanded at large after the court decided that his involvement in the case could not be proved. Yadav was arrested on January 13 Subba, who was stationed at Jhurko Police Post, was gunned down at Bhaudaha Chowk.
