Finish master plan, PM tells lumbini staff
Feb 15, 2016-
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Sunday Oli directed the authorities concerned to complete the backlog of works under the Lumbini Master Plan at the earliest possible.
Assuring that the government would release Rs6 billion for carrying out the plan, PM Oli directed them to complete the project within next three years. He also directed them to submit designs of all the physical structures under the plan to the government within six months.
He inspected the Mayadevi Temple and offered worships there. Oli said that shutdowns, strike and politics of violence should be shunned from Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha.
Saying that the country of Buddha--the apostle of peace and non-violence--is reeling under unrest, PM Oli said the drive to eliminate violent activities should rather be expanded to other parts of the country. Oli, who arrived here to take stock of the Lumbini Master Plan and inspect developments taking place around the shrine, said the message of peace and teachings of Buddha should be spread across the globe.
Stressing the need for developing Lumbini as a symbol of peace, he said it would be sin to allow criminal acts here.
