Environment Department chief Bhairav Bogati apprised a meeting of metropolitan officials about the new collection on Sunday. The meeting—first one to be held on first Sunday of every Nepali calendar month—is intended at making transparent KMC’s work towards good governance, infrastructure development, social and economic development, public participation, pollution control, inclusive and gender-friendly development, preservation of heritage sites and reconstruction after earthquake.
In his 43-point commitment towards good governance in the Capital, KMC chief and Executive Officer Rudra Singh Tamang had pledged to hold monthly meetings of chiefs of different departments, projects, divisions, sections, units and ward offices to take stock of progress over the month.
In the meeting, chief of Physical Development and Construction Department Uttar Kumar Regmi said that his office would finish preparing blueprints within a week for redeveloping Balaju Baisdhara Park and for rebuilding KMC’s former offices at Bagh Durbar in Sundhara which were damaged by the earthquake last year.
Chief of Urban Development Department Archana Shakya said that they were preparing to install electronic building permit system to more ward offices. The system is currently being employed in 14 wards. Division chiefs Suraj Shakya and Ram Thapa said that installation of solar system in new buildings would be made mandatory.
