‘PM’s India visit meaningless’

“It would be better if internal issues were resolved before the PM leaves for India,” said Yadav, while talking to journalists in Biratnagar on Thursday. “But the concerns of Madhes have not been addressed yet and I believe visiting India at this juncture will not yield any meaningful result.”
Yadav questioned the constitutional status of the political mechanism announced to resolve the state demarcation row within three months. “It’s fine that the mechanism will be formed but its constitutional and political bases should be made clear,” he said.
Yadav said the political mechanism might face difficulties performing its duties if its working guidelines and scope are not constitutionally defined. He demanded clear-cut working guidelines for the mechanism before the PM embarks on the India trip.
Claiming that the Tarai agitation had not died down, Yadav said the regional parties were preparing for a decisive fight to ensure the political rights of the Madhesis.
