Top Morcha leaders to go to new Delhi

- Post Report, Kathmandu

Mar 6, 2016-

Top leaders of the Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) are scheduled to visit New Delhi from March 12-15. According to Morcha leaders, chairmen of all seven Madhes-based parties of the SLMM are set to leave for New Delhi to attend a programme organised by a think tank in the Indian capital.

The top Morcha leaders are also expected to hold political meetings with the Indian establishment in New Delhi. Rajendra Shrestha, co-chair of the Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum Nepal, confirmed the meetings but refused to divulge details.

The planned visit has been looked meaningfully as Morcha leaders are struggling to decide their next move in anticipation of possible government change after Nepali Congress’s General Convention. Most of the Morcha allies are for forging a tactical alliance with the NC. They are also lobbying for joining the new government under NC’s leadership.
