APF to hold 3 events

The volleyball tourney will be followed by 12th Nationwide Krishna Mohan Memorial Open Badminton Championships and eighth Sahabir Memorial Open Lawn Tennis Championships. Both the event will be held from April 3-8.
Women’s volleyball champions will get Rs 250,000 with the first and second runners-up taking home Rs 125,000. The best player of the tournament will ride a scooter.
Badminton tournament includes men’s and women’s singles and doubles along with u-17 boys and girls’. Also included are mixed doubles, veterans’ doubles (above-45 and 55) apart from masters doubles (above-35 and 45). The top three finishers in the men’s singles will get Rs 60,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 25,000. Likewise, women’s winner will pocket Rs 50,000 with the second and third place finishers taking Rs 25,000 each.
Cash prizes are also set aside in all other categories. Likewise, lawn tennis includes men’s, women’s and masters singles and doubles along with mixed doubles veteran (above-35 years) singles and doubles. The men’s singles winner will get Rs 60,000 with second and third place finishers pocketing Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000.
The top three in women’s category will earn Rs 60,000, Rs 30, 000 and Rs 10,000. APF AIG Singha Bahadur Shrestha said: “We wanted to hold the tournaments according to our usual schedule but couldn’t manage them due to earthquake and blockade. We are hopeful of successful events.”
