KMC installs 92 solar lights in Basantapur to attract tourists

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has spent Rs14.2 million under its Ujyalo Kathmandu Project cover Juddha Statue and surrounding areas up to New Road Gate, Indra Chowk, Hanumandhoka premises, Makhan Mahadev, Pyafal, Taleju Temple premises.
Equipped with a lighting control, the solar light turns on and off auto-matically depending upon natural light. Of the total 92 lampposts erected for the purpose, 72 have solar lights on one side while the rest have them on both sides.
The lights installed on Friday, the municipal authorities say, will make the locals and visitors secure around the area during the night time.
