Party Chairman Kamal Thapa, who is also Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, welcomed the leaders including Senior Vice-Chairman of CBEP Chandra Prasad Khanal.
Over two dozen CBEP leaders joined the pro-Hindu party, expressing their dissatisfaction over the performance of the party Chairman and former minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare Badri Neupane.
According to RPP Spokesperson Raja Ram Shrestha, besides the CBEP leaders over a dozen film actors have joined the party under the leadership of filmmaker Pradeep Udaya.
Speaking at the programme, Khanal said they decided to quit the party as Neupane imposed dictatorship in running the party. The CBEP came in limelight for its protest against the agreement reached between the then Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Nepal back in 2007.
