A discussion on the newly released book, Birgunj: Mero Sahar Ko Katha, written by Girish Giri, was organised at Sabha Hall in Narayangadh, Chitwan on Sunday.
The event, which was attended by writers, readers and media personalities, also saw journalist Narayan Wagle talk about the book.
Speaking at the event, Wagle talked about what makes the book distinct and appreciated the simplicity of the writing format.
A journalist himself, Wagle said, “We can expect a very journalistic perspective and straightforward approach in the narrative as writer Girish is also a former journalist.” He was seen enthusiastically participating in a discussion with the audience. When asked what he liked the most about the book, he said, “The book features characters and stories that are long forgotten or are given less attention. It sheds light on stories that are always overshadowed.” He also added, “The book, I think, would appeal more to those who are interested and involved in the journalism profession.”
Prem Binod Nandan, Ramesh Prabhat, Sangit Aayam, Aajita Adhikari, Minbahadur Basanta, Lekhram Sapkota were some of the other writers who participated in the discussion. The event was jointly organised by Sungava Book House and Hamile Nagarye Kasle Garne. The book is published by nepa~laya.
