To mark the celebration of the bilateral relations between the two countries, British Council in collaboration with the British Embassy had organised numerous activities in UK and Nepal across the year. This cultural fair is organised by the Council to mark the closing ceremony of a yearlong celebration.
Nepal and the UK celebrated two hundred years of friendship and partnership in March 2016. During those 200 years, the relationship of the two countries has developed, changed and ultimately grown more and more close. The Nepali community in the UK comprises of more than 80,000 people and more than 30,000 Britons visit Nepal every year. By marking this bicentenary the Governments of Nepal and the United Kingdom are marking their increasingly connected societies, and lay the foundations for a further two hundred years of joint endeavour. The event will see the launch of the British radio programme The Selector by DJ Goldierocks from the UK and also performances by Circus Kathmandu, Nepali folk band Kutumba and British band Dallahan. The fair will also have a food festival which starts from 12 pm.
