Campus Road posted 119-7 in 20 overs before Chauraha crawled to 123-9. Chauraha will now play Attariya in the final on Saturday.
Campus Road were sniffing victory when Santosh Bhatt bowled well set Dipendra Thapa in the 18th over at 112-7. With scores level, Lalit Singh Bhandari removed Yam Karki in the last ball of the 19th over and after bowling three dot balls in the 20th, Chandra Saud raised hopes of a one-over eliminator getting rid of Dipesh Chand (seven).
However, Saud’s fifth ball went for four byes as Chauraha’s last pair of Kiran Thagunna and Aman Panthi eked out the victory.
Chauraha had a poor start, losing opener Sandeep Jora (four) and Yogendra Karki (four) to Saud. Another opener Padam KC stuck to the crease steering his side close to 80 runs. But Bhatt removed the opener in the 14th over and a run out of Sonu Tamang (duck) reduced Chauraha to 78-5 in 13.4 overs.
KC top scored with a 40-ball 35 that included four boundaries. Thapa then forged a crucial 32-run stand with Bhuwan Karki (12) and Chauraha survived a late Campus Road fightback to advance. Thapa scored 31 off 28 balls. Saud took 3-24 from 3.5 overs and Bhandari had 2-23 from four.
Earlier, Campus Road had a few modest scorers and failed to build a partnership that would have allow ed the middle and lower order to fire at the end. Amar Dhanuk hit 22 off 25 balls.
Bhatt gave an allround performace making a 29-ball 30 that included four hits to the fence. Lalit Singh Bhandari pushed Campus Road towards a challenging total scoring a 12-ball 24.
Lokesh Bam (14) and Saud (12) also made runs in double figures for Campus Road. While Campus Road innings had two run outs, Sonu Tamang and Yogendra
Karki picked up two wickets each for Chauraha.
