Two- wheeler distributors are providing heavy cash discounts, cash-back offers, gifts, free servicing and easy financing facilities.
VG Automobiles, an authorised distributor of Suzuki motorcycles in Nepal, has launched a scheme where customers will get cash discount of Rs8,000 to Rs207,300 on every purchase of Suzuki motorcycles or scooters with a sure minimum discount of Rs8,000.
Marketing manager at the company Samit Singh said, “This year we have initiated heavy cash discount offers along with EMI schemes particularly within Kathmandu Valley and we hope to boost sales by 9-10 percent. After the end of fuel crisis our performance has started to pick up pace.”
Jagdamba Motors-TVS, sole distributor of TVS motorcycles in Nepal, has initiated a similar scheme entitled ‘TVS Naya Barsha ko Saathma CASH Turuntai Haathma’. As per the scheme, the company will provide a cash-back offer of Rs8,000 on purchase of any TVS motorcycle or scooter. Nepal General Marketing, authorised distributor of Hero MotoCorp Ltd in Nepal, has launched ‘Cash Back Khalti Pack’ offer to grab customers’ attention on New Years shopping spree with sure cash-backs ranging from Rs6,000 to Rs10,000. Customers will also be given bumper cash-backs of 50 percent, 75 percent and 100 percent along with 30 percent discount on engine oil purchases, 7 percent discount on spare parts and a five-year warranty.
“After a frustrating year which saw our sales slump significantly, this new year we hope to boost sales by 20-30 percent,” Dinesh Ratna Bajracharya, head of Hero division at the company said. “Hero saw a decline in sales through last year but after November the sales have picked up and we hope it will continue to grow.”
In a similar effort, SG Global, sole distributor of Mahindra’s two-wheelers, has initiated a scheme under the tagline ‘Ride, Play and win’ to provide customers with an enjoyable shopping experience along with discount coupons worth Rs7,000.
According to market analysts, the market will further see companies launching more schemes and offers in other consumer durables such as mobile phones, TVs, clothing and accessories.
