At the meeting held on Tuesday, Xu noted that
decades of healthy and steady bilateral relations between China and Nepal have
set an example for equality and peaceful co-existence between nations, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army said in a statement on Wednesday.
“China highly appreciates that Nepal has upheld the ‘one China’ policy and never allowed any force to engage in activities against China’s interests on its territory,” the statement quoated Xu as saying. “China feels grateful to the Nepal military for the important role it plays in that process.”
Speaking highly of the long-term military ties of the two countries, Xu expressed hope they can seize the opportunity of the thriving bilateral relations to further strategic communication, expand cooperation in fields such as personnel training, equipment and technology, and disaster relief, and seek new growth points for “military-to-military relations”.
Gen Chhetri appreciated China’s consistent and strong help to Nepal in its national and military development.
He also expressed willingness to reinforce cooperation between the military of the two nations in the form of exchange of visits by delegations, personnel training and joint training and exercises.
