Around 500 vehicles are booked in Kathmandu for breaking lane rules every day, according to the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division (MTPD).
As part of its plan to maintain lane discipline, the MTPD from March 21 has initiated special campaign. Traffic cops have been equipped with GoPro cameras to keep tabs on traffic rule violators. Since then, the MTPD has booked 3,922 people for failing to maintain lane discipline.
Anyone found violating traffic lane rule is slapped with Rs 200 fine and has to attend an hourlong class on traffic rules.
