Tandukar, who is currently working at Public Procurement Monitoring Office, has been charged with misusing relief materials worth Rs 2,410, 214.
Former KMC department chief Shantaram Pokharel, chief of finance Buddha Ratna Manandhar, administration chief Bakhat Bahadur Saud, and suppliers Nandaraj Pokharel and Sundarlal Chaudhary have also been accused of embezzlement.
In a charge-sheet filed at the Special Court, the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has stated that public procurement rules were flouted while contracting private firms for purchasing tents.
